the kitchen really is the heart of the home, especially true in our home. i live in my kitchen. everyone who knows me well, knows that i’m always in there mixing up something fancy or sipping on coffee. when we moved into our home almost a year ago, we said the kitchen was going to be the first room to re-do (besides the floors and some painting). well, we’re finally ready to take it on (not ourselves, thank goodness!) and i’m gonna share the entire journey with you my friends. this is a bit scary for me as i’m no designer or decorator, but thanks to blogs and mags i think i know what i want and i’m inspired.

as i’ve said before, this is very similar to what our layout and look will be…and it’s about the same size we have to work with. we’ll be using the same awesome (and cheap) ikea lights, possibly the same white cabinets, and very similar appliances. oh, and i’ll be diligently scouring ebay for a kilim like this.

i’ll be looking for a deal on a farm sink and faucet like this. still unsure about the counters. we might end up going with these wood ikea ones.

one wall will have bead board and some open shelving. we really need to open up space and this is a great way…

i really love green and use it in just about every room. we might paint the lower cabinets a pale gray/green or maybe the walls? still undecided on A LOT! i’ve already had dreams last night about my indecisiveness after meeting with the contractor yesterday. and so it begins!!
