    Weekend Finds

over the last month, i’ve been hunting on the weekends. you see, it’s my most favorite thing to do EVER. it’s become quite an addiction of sorts :) i went to a couple new antique stores with my mom and cousin and another time with another cousin and sis-in-law. we had SO MUCH fun! i made them promise me we’d go every month. sure beats going alone.

one of the places was outside and so gross… i’ll spare the pics. you may begin to wonder about me. :) why is it that the dirtiest places always seem to have to best “junk” ?!

i found these awesome map prints for $2.00. can’t beat that. i’m gong to frame them for my hub’s office in the attic. can’t wait to finish decorating his space- i think it’s the best room in the house.

    love those muted colors…

i also found this insane old clock, i think it was only $1.00. it doesn’t work and yeah, it’s pretty beat up. but i like it anyway. sorry for the blurry pics…

oh, and i also found my wreath at the dirty place. (totally calling it that from now on!) it was only $5.00!

at one of my favorite antique stops, i found this turkey platter. i’ve wanted one forever and snatched it up as soon as i saw the colors. so sad i won’t get to use it this year.

i’ve somehow managed to collect more pictures. i don’t know where to hang them yet, but couldn’t resist just for the frames alone.

    i have a thing for horses. aren’t they lovely…

well, that’s it for now. happy tuesday!

    Flea Market Finds

i was out and about on friday and decided to stop in at an outdoor flea market down the road. this place has tons and tons of junk and you really have to dig around for the treasures. you also have to dig through cobwebs and not be afraid to get your hands dirty. it’s kind of gross, but worth it in the end. here’s what i found and brought home with me. of course, everything got a real good scrub outside on the deck first.

i thought these pictures were so sweet and of course love the old frames. i couldn’t resist the tiny hand drawn prints…especially love the bird sketch. the bigger botanical is an old german lithograph. these were only a couple bucks each. the old bubble lamp was actually given to my from my mom, but i decided to throw it in with these finds. she found it for a dollar.

the mirror is older than dirt. i just love the beveled edges and chippy paint. this sucker is quite heavy too. my big kitty has to check things out and be in the pics too.

    Flea Market Finds

i found this great cabinet at my favorite antique store down the road. i’ve been searching for a few months now for an old linen cabinet to put in our upstairs landing. this one is definitely old. very old. it looks like an emperor style and quite possibly had legs at one time. i love the bow front…

the more chippy the better. i love old, original distressing. you will pay the big bucks for reproductions, but they just aren’t the same in my opinion. how sweet is the white enamel knob and little key hole?

i am really into botanicals lately. not sure where i will put these bird prints yet…

these little lady plaques remind me of silhouettes, which i’m also really into lately. and the little wood mirror was just so cute i couldn’t pass it up. they will continue to sit for weeks because i can’t decide where to hang them.
